Criminal Attorneys, DUI Attorneys, Domestic Violence Lawyers, and Criminal Defense Attorney

The attorneys at Bloch & Chapleau have extensive experience handling criminal matters, from pre-arrest to trial, to appeal. We represent clients in all criminal matters including sexual assaults, drugs charges, DUIs, murder and domestic violence. Because every case and client is unique, the attorneys at our firm use their expertise and experience to approach cases in a “team manner" if necessary. As part of our team, we have three attorneys that defend clients in criminal matters.

Domestic Violence and Assault
A crime of domestic violence means any crime involving an act of violence where the victim had or has an intimate relationship with the actor, and includes any crime where the reason was as a method of coercion, control, punishment, intimidation, or revenge directed against a person whom the actor has or had an intimate relationship. Any crime, depending on identity of the alleged victim, can be considered a crime of domestic violence, from apparently nonviolent felonies down to misdemeanors. If you are charged with such a crime, a conviction could mean losing many of your constitutional rights, including your right to bear arms. A conviction for a crime involving domestic violence could also have long lasting and devastating effects on your right to parent your children. A domestic violence charge may result from a moment of bad judgment, an accident of circumstances, or a simple miscommuncation. It is critical that you speak with the experienced attorneys at Bloch & Chapleau before you make any decisions that could have lifelong consequences regarding a charge involving domestic violence.

Felonies
Bloch & Chapleau handles all manners of felony crimes, whether on the state or federal level. Felonies include homicides, kidnappings, serious assaults, thefts, property damage, and computer crimes. Charges range from 1st degree to 6th degree based on severity; the lower the number the more serious the charge. A felony conviction can result in the loss of constitutional rights, restrictions on employment, and even a prison sentence.

These cases are always handled with the utmost attention and although we cannot guarantee the outcome of any case, our “team approach” to handling these cases has led to great success for our clients.

Misdemeanors
Misdemeanors in Colorado include crimes such as harassment, third degree assault, telephone obstruction, assault and battery, possession of drug paraphernalia, false imprisonment, theft, and destruction of property. While the consequences are typically less than a felony conviction, they can still result in a substantial restriction on your liberty, by requiring completion of a probation sentence, completion of certain classes or treatment, or even jail time. It is no less important that you speak to Bloch & Chapleau about your case.

DUI
As Colorado laws regarding drinking and driving get more complex and strict, enforcement by police is increasingly strict. Both the direct and collateral consequences for DUI (driving under the influence) and DWAI (driving while ability impaired) are getting more severe each and every year. A charge involving drinking and driving can result in serious and immediate restrictions on your right to drive, and you need to take steps immediately to either avoid or minimize any damage that charge will have to you. A drinking and driving conviction can result in probation, community service, and alcohol classes and treatment. Depending on the severity of the incident involved, a mandatory jail sentence could be imposed. Although we cannot guarantee the outcome of any case, we have been involved in handling hundreds of DUI cases, including motor vehicle hearings, and Bloch & Chapleau will do everything in our power to obtain the best results for you.

Drug Offenses
Our attorneys routinely handle drug cases, from simple marijuana tickets to drug trafficking and possession of controlled substances charges. Drug cases can be very complex because of laws that have special sentencing and fines. Although we cannot guarantee the outcome of any case, our attorneys are skilled at navigating through drug court proceedings and achieving good results.

Sexual Offenses
The attorneys at Bloch & Chapleau are experienced in representing those accused of sexual offenses, and have helped their clients navigate the maze of consequences that result of one being charged with a sex offense, including obtaining appropriate treatment and counseling to achieve the best result possible for their clients.
